TMP: Team Multimedia Presentation

TMP

Team Multimedia Presentation

An 8 to 10 minute team presentation and defense, worth 50% of PT1. Your team argues for a solution to a shared focus question, then each member answers one oral defense question. This is teacher scored.

8 to 10 min50% of PT1 = 10% of your AP score. Teacher scored.

Team Workflow

1Build the Team StoryAgree on a focus question, write a one-sentence team claim, plan sections, assign roles.
2Build Core Slides + HandoffsOne clean style, short text, source credit on every slide, typed handoff lines.
3Add Limits, RehearseFinish limits/counter and conclusion slides, draft OD answers, run timed rehearsals.
4Present + DefendDeliver in 8 to 10 minutes, answer one OD question each, then reflect.

Speaking Roles

From the Role Chart planning sheet. Speaking roles, one per teammate:

Speaker 1, Opener/Context (1:30 to 2:00): the hook, the problem, the focus question. Handoff: "Now I'll pass to ___ because..."

Speakers 2 and 3, Solution leads (2:00 to 2:30 each): one solution apiece, with credited evidence. Handoffs: "Building on that, ___ will..." and "Next, ___ will address..."

Speaker 4, Limits/Counter + Closer (1:30 to 2:00): what is weak or hard, why the solution still holds, conclusion and implications. Handoff in: "To conclude, ___ will..."

Support roles on top of speaking roles: a slide driver, a timekeeper, and an evidence verifier who checks every on-slide credit. Lock all of this in the Role Chart on Day 1, and keep it on top of your deck.

Slide Design Tips

One font family, two colors, big headings, minimal text. Every slide passes the 3-second read test. Visuals advance the point, never decorate, and every piece of evidence is credited on the slide or out loud.

See it done: the three high scoring decks linked under the videos at the bottom of this section are the model. Open one and count the words per slide.

Team Coherence

One story: every part ties back to the one-sentence team claim, with no repeated points across speakers. The full scoring breakdown, including how equal participation is checked, is in the TMP rubric in the Rubrics section.

Presentation Structure

Opening

Problem/Context + Focus Question

What is happening, anchored with a credited stat or definition, then the exact question your team answers.

Middle

Solutions (2 to 3)

Name each solution, give 2 to 3 key supports with credit, and explain why it helps. Then Limits/Counter: what is weak or hard, and why your solution still works overall.

Closing

Conclusion + Implications

Restate your team's answer and say what should happen next.

Common Mistakes & Notes

A series of unconnected individual arguments, or individual reports yoked by a very broad theme, caps the Establish Argument row. The presentation needs one team solution that every speaker builds toward.
Slides with information overload, decorative images that serve no argumentative purpose, or text that is unreadable in the time shown cap the design score. If the audience cannot read it in 3 seconds, cut it.
Describing or reporting on a problem without arguing for a team solution or resolution stops the argument score at 2. The rubric rewards a convincing argument for a solution built on strategically selected evidence.
